About us

Cosmic Carnivorous Plants is a carnivorous plant nursery located in the midlands of South Carolina. The nursery is owned and operated by the mother-daughter team of Cindy and Emily Coombs.

Cindy is a Master Gardener and has a long history raising these unique and beautiful plants.

She’s had extensive gardening and landscape design experience and now that she’s retired from the “9 to 5” work world, the passion for carnivorous plants exploded into what is now Cosmic Carnivorous Plants.

Emily has not had quite as many years working with carnivorous plants but once that spark was ignited, the flames grew into a full-blown passion for all carnivorous plants.

She’s an expert in research and has introduced Pinguicula (tropical Mexican Butterwort) and Pigmy sundews to the plant line-up. Emily exemplifies the future of carnivorous plants!
