FAQ's

How do you ship the plants?

The method we use for shipping live plants is tried and true by most carnivorous plant vendors.

Sarracenia, flytaps and most sundews are always shipped bare root. We carefully wash nearly all media from the roots and rhizome. The roots and rhizome are wrapped in damp paper towels and secured in a plastic bag. Then the entire plant is placed into another plastic bag and secured in the box with tape so it does not shift.

We try to keep all foliage intact but occasionally the tallest pitchers may not fit and the very top may have to be trimmed.

Pinguicula are shipped wrapped in a damp paper towel and placed into a condiment cup. Pygmy sundews are shipped potted due to their fragile tap root.

We ship priority mail on monday or tuesday. We do not ship later in the week to avoid plants sitting in the post office over the weekend.

What size plant will I get?

This depends on the species of plant. Some of our listings will give you a choice of sizes. click here to see a document that has more detailed information about our shipping sizes.
